Interesting new article on the NewYorkTimes Blog this week that discusses the importance of physical education and the effects it has in the classroom. Several recent studies mentioned in the article have found that students who were in better aerobic condition, or more physically fit, were able to retain new information more effectively. They demonstrated how physical fitness may help aid children in learning the most difficult of tasks. With the recent trend of eliminating physical education programs from schools for financial purposes, it is becoming more evident that is may not be in the best interest of the students.
